Arunachal Pradesh Elections See Robust Voter Turnout
Arunachal Pradesh's panchayat and municipal elections witnessed a high voter turnout, with nearly 75% participation in the panchayat polls and 51.39% in Itanagar's municipal elections. Despite minor disturbances, the polling process was peaceful, with the SEC scheduling repolling on December 18 and vote counting on December 20.

The panchayat polls in Arunachal Pradesh saw an impressive voter turnout of nearly 75%, according to the State Election Commission. Urban local body elections in the region recorded a 51.39% turnout in the Itanagar Municipal Corporation, with 24,604 of 47,877 voters casting their votes.
In Pasighat, the Municipal Council reported a remarkably higher turnout of 60.95%, as 7,541 of the 12,373 registered voters participated in the elections. Statewide, of the 5,94,307 enrolled panchayat voters, 4,45,264 voted, marking a turnout of 74.92%.
The electoral process covered 186 zilla parishad constituencies, 1,947 gram panchayat seats, among others, and proceeded largely peacefully. The SEC announced select areas for repolling on December 18 due to disturbances, with vote counting scheduled for December 20.
