Vote counting for Punjab's zila parishad and panchayat samiti elections is ongoing under heavy security. Vote counting for the heavily contested zila parishad and panchayat samiti elections in Punjab commenced on Wednesday morning. Security was tight as ballot paper counting took place at 154 centers statewide.

Accusations flew as Akali Dal workers claimed they were denied entry to a Patiala counting center. Allegations also surfaced regarding unauthorized entries, with claims involving political figures.

Opposition parties have accused the ruling Aam Aadmi Party of blatant electoral malpractices, demanding transparency and fair counting to restore faith in the democratic process.
