In a robust demonstration of dissent, opposition MPs orchestrated a protest march in the Parliament House complex on Thursday, condemning the G RAM G bill. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge labeled it a 'systematic murder of the world's largest employment scheme,' vowing nationwide resistance.

Amidst banners of 'Mahatma Gandhi NREGA,' parliamentarians including K C Venugopal, K Kanhimozhi, and Sonia Gandhi rallied from the Gandhi statue to Makar Dwar, decrying the government's actions. Kharge, speaking post-protest, accused the Modi administration of undermining Mahatma Gandhi's legacy and promised continued opposition from legislative venues to public streets.

The contentious Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Bill proposes to supersede MGNREGA, ensuring 125 days of wage employment for rural households. Critics assert that removing NREGA's name is a threat to democratic ideals and socio-economic progress.
