In an escalation of diplomatic tensions, Russian authorities have expelled a British diplomat, accusing the individual of espionage. The announcement was made Thursday by Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), even though concrete evidence has yet to be disclosed.

The expulsion marks another chapter in the strained relations between Moscow and NATO allies, as the diplomat's accreditation was revoked, necessitating their departure from Russia within two weeks. Britain's charge d'affaires, Danae Dholakia, was summoned to receive the formal notice, while the FSB emphasized that Moscow will not tolerate covert intelligence operations.
