French Government Aims to Curb Budget Deficit to 5% of GDP

Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu announced the government's goal to limit the French budget deficit to 5% of GDP this year. He assured the nation that despite economic challenges, ministry expenditures would be reduced compared to last year.

Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu declared on Friday that his administration is committed to keeping the French budget deficit at or below 5% of the gross domestic product.

In a televised address, Lecornu assured the public, saying, "This year we will be at 5%, we will make it."

He further elaborated that the ministries' current euro spending would be reduced from the previous year, underscoring the government's fiscal responsibility efforts.
