Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu declared on Friday that his administration is committed to keeping the French budget deficit at or below 5% of the gross domestic product.

In a televised address, Lecornu assured the public, saying, "This year we will be at 5%, we will make it."

He further elaborated that the ministries' current euro spending would be reduced from the previous year, underscoring the government's fiscal responsibility efforts.
