Uttar Pradesh's chief electoral officer, Navdeep Rinwa, has outlined plans for an intensive revision of electoral rolls ahead of the 2026 elections. Special campaigns will be held, allowing voters to check and update their information to ensure accuracy in the voter lists.
The revision period, set by the Election Commission of India, runs from January 6 to February 6, 2026. Special campaign days, including January 18 and 31, as well as February 1, will assist voters in verifying and correcting their details, with a fourth day determined by local conditions.
On these days, booth-level officers, supported by assistant staff, will provide necessary materials and guidance at polling stations. Recognised political parties, local leaders, and volunteers are encouraged to offer support, ensuring a seamless and accurate revision process.
