The Congress party intensified its protest actions on Tuesday by defacing the nameplate outside the residence of Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah. Their demand? The immediate arrest and removal of Shah from the cabinet following his alleged objectionable comments regarding Colonel Sofiya Qureshi.
This demonstration comes in response to the Supreme Court's ultimatum to the state, urging it to decide within two weeks on whether to sanction Shah's prosecution for his comments against Col. Qureshi. Youth Congress forces, led by Bhopal's district president, Amit Khatri, took dramatic steps by vandalizing the minister's property.
With a viral video further fueling public fury, Congress's Amit Sharma criticized the BJP, accusing it of prioritizing ministerial power over constitutional integrity. Despite Shah's expressed regret, demands for his legal accountability remain strong as public unease grows over perceived governmental protections.
