In a move that sparked controversy, Congress has accused the government of not providing a legislative agenda ahead of the upcoming Budget session of Parliament. Criticisms were voiced during an all-party meeting, as Congress leader K Suresh publicly expressed concern over the unexplained absence of a detailed agenda.
Despite Congress's complaints, Union ministers present at the meeting reassured participants that the legislative agenda would be made available subsequently. The session beginning on Wednesday plans to initiate with a debate on the Motion of Thanks, following the President Droupadi Murmu's address to the Joint session.
The session will tackle discussions on the Union Budget starting from February 1, expected to lead into a recess after February 13. Parliamentary proceedings will resume from March 9 until the concluding date of April 2, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh convening the pre-session meeting.
