Envoys from Moscow and Kyiv engaged in US-brokered negotiations in Abu Dhabi to address the prolonged conflict. In a bid to resolve the prolonged conflict, envoys from Moscow and Kyiv convened in Abu Dhabi for US-brokered negotiations. The discussions, joined by US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, aimed to establish concrete solutions during two days of intensive talks.

While progress was acknowledged by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, challenges remain as Russian attacks continue unabated. Notably, a recent assault on a Ukrainian market by Russian forces, using cluster munitions, highlighted the persistent hostilities, causing fatalities and injuries.

Coinciding with the discussions, significant Russian attacks targeted Ukraine's energy facilities, exacerbating civilian hardships amidst harsh winter conditions. The situation remains tense as Russian strikes disrupt the energy infrastructure, adding another layer of complexity to the peace talks.
