In a sharp retort to Congress leader and Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge, Telangana BJP President Ramchander Rao defended the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), highlighting its pivotal role in maintaining India's unity. He accused the Congress party of sowing division across caste and other issues, praising the RSS as the unifying force aligning with BJP's ideology.
Rao asserted that RSS critics should acknowledge its significant contributions to India's cohesion, unlike the Congress, which he alleged compromises national interests. 'Without the RSS, the notion of a unified India is unattainable,' Rao stated. He further accused Congress of sacrificing national interests, while claiming the RSS protected them.
Amid political jabs, Rao celebrated Team India's 61-run win over Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, underscoring India's status as a leading cricket nation. Meanwhile, Priyank Kharge questioned the financial transparency of the RSS and criticized its ideological influence on religious discourse, particularly concerning interpretations of the Ramayana and remarks by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
