Sherman Ali Ahmed, the suspended Congress MLA, has aligned with the Raijor Dal, marking his departure from Assam's main opposition. The event took place on Tuesday, mutating the political landscape in the state.
This move follows closely after another three-time Congress MLA, Abdur Rashid Mandal, also shifted allegiance to the Akhil Gogoi-led Raijor Dal just a day earlier.
Throughout his political journey, Ahmed, a former government official, transitioned from AIUDF to Congress before this latest switch, which is poised to influence the upcoming post-delimitation state assembly elections.
