Mamata Stages Protests Against Steep LPG Price Hike

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that the Trinamool Congress's women's wing will rally against a significant LPG price hike. The protest coincides with International Women's Day and addresses both increased energy costs and voter roll concerns affecting married women.

In a bold move, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared that the women's wing of the ruling Trinamool Congress will take to the streets to oppose the recent hike in LPG prices.

The increase, by Rs 60 and Rs 114.5 for domestic and commercial cylinders, respectively, comes amid escalating energy costs linked to geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

Banerjee criticized the Centre for increasing LPG prices without offering alternatives and linked the protest to International Women's Day as well as issues regarding voter roll deletions affecting married women.
