Punjab Assembly Erupts Over Medical College Debates

The Punjab Assembly witnessed intense debates between AAP and Congress lawmakers when Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa criticized Health Minister Balbir Singh's responses about government medical colleges. The verbal clash intensified after Cabinet minister Aman Arora intervened, leading to heated exchanges and disruptions on the assembly floor.

The Punjab Assembly session on Tuesday turned tumultuous as a verbal battle broke out between AAP and Congress legislators. The conflict began when Leader of Opposition, Partap Singh Bajwa, objected to Cabinet minister Aman Arora's intrusion during Health Minister Balbir Singh's response to a query on medical colleges.

Bajwa criticized the Bhagwant Mann government for not delivering on its promise to establish 16 government medical colleges, but Balbir Singh noted that seven are underway through various partnerships. The argument intensified when Bajwa dismissed Singh's explanations about private colleges as irrelevant.

Aman Arora's attempt to participate in the discussion sparked further contention, leading him and other AAP MLAs to the Well of the House in protest. Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan intervened to restore order, amid Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema's demands for an apology from Bajwa for alleged misconduct.
