Kanimozhi, a prominent MP from the Dravidian party, has forcefully countered BJP's Piyush Goyal, who labeled the DMK as 'corrupt and dynastic' in a recent political 'chargesheet'. Kanimozhi pointed out that Goyal himself hails from a political family, challenging the notion that only DMK members are involved in family politics.
In an interview with PTI Videos, she argued that the DMK representatives are legitimately elected by the people, contrasting this with Goyal's criticism of their lineage. She criticized the BJP's alleged practice of forgiving corruption charges the moment an individual associates with them, metaphorically describing it as a 'huge washing machine' that cleanses accusations of graft.
Furthermore, Kanimozhi accused the central government of using agencies like the CBI and the Income Tax department to target political opponents selectively. She also refuted the claims that the DMK is an anti-Hindu party by illustrating the inclusive progress under DMK, including the renovation of over 4,000 temples, emphasizing their governance ethos.
