Amid mounting tensions in West Bengal's political landscape, Trinamool Congress candidates Shashi Panja and Kunal Ghosh have staged a sit-in protest outside a key ballot strong room in Kolkata. The protest follows claims of electoral fraud involving the BJP and the Election Commission's alleged involvement in tampering with electronic voting machines (EVM) and postal ballots without the presence of party representatives.

Kunal Ghosh highlighted concerns over suspicious activities inside the strong room, pointing to CCTV footage that reportedly reveals unauthorized access. Ghosh accused unnamed individuals of manipulating postal ballots in full view of the Commission’s cameras, labeling the act as a significant breach of transparency and fairness in the electoral process.

As tensions escalate, security measures have been heightened around the area. TMC has condemned these activities as an affront to democracy, announcing that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will soon assess the situation herself. Trinamool steadfastly maintains their position against alleged electoral malpractice, vowing to protect the mandate given by the people of Bengal.
