CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan announced on Sunday that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) is on the verge of rewriting Kerala's political history by winning a third consecutive term. The LDF previously made history in 2021 by retaining power for a second time.

Govindan, expressing confidence in an overall favorable verdict in the recent Assembly polls, noted that exit polls predict 60–69 seats, suggesting the LDF could cross the majority threshold with a slight margin. He emphasized that certain constituencies where they lead are not reflected in the forecasts.

Addressing the Congress' internal disputes, Govindan claimed the Congress-led United Democratic Front is unfit to govern, while dismissing the possibility of the BJP-led NDA capturing any seats. The vote count for the Assembly's 140 seats was scheduled for Monday.
