West Bengal's Political Shift: BJP Exudes Confidence in Forming Next Government

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is projecting confidence as it seems poised to form the next government in West Bengal, insisting that the state's electorate has voted for change and voiced support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP leads in 171 seats while the TMC trails with 83 as counting progresses in 293 assembly races.

Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari underscored that the BJP was on course to take power. He highlighted the consolidation of Hindu votes in BJP's favor, contrasting with Muslim voters who he claimed did not en masse support the TMC.

The BJP's hopeful outlook was echoed by state party president Samik Bhattacharya and other candidates who described the election as a decisive rejection of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's government. Citing Modi's leadership, the BJP remains optimistic about a majority win, symbolizing a significant political shift.
