Puducherry's political landscape witnessed notable shifts as senior BJP leader A Namassivayam secured a commanding victory in the Mannadipet assembly constituency, besting Congress rival T P R Selvam. Selvam had recently switched allegiance to Congress, making the win particularly significant for the BJP.
In the Lawspet Assembly seat, former Speaker V P Sivakolundhu emerged victorious, toppling incumbent legislator M Vaithianathan, also of Congress. Meanwhile, in the Yanam constituency, former Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao reclaimed his seat, defeating Congress nominee Gollapalli Srinivas Ashok.
Other significant outcomes included B Ravikumar of AINRC overcoming R Siva in Villianoor, and AIADMK's A Anbalagan reclaiming the Uppalam constituency from the DMK. Anbalagan's return marks a notable comeback after his previous defeat in 2021.
