The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), led by President Atul Bora, is set to convene a meeting for its newly elected legislators following a victorious assembly election outcome in Assam. The gathering is scheduled for May 6, amidst the BJP's sweeping success in the state elections.
President Bora expressed that the electorate's votes were cast with the intention of continuing development under the guidance of Himanta Biswa Sarma. Pointing to improved performance, Bora noted an increase from nine to ten seats for AGP, indicating public support for the progress envisioned by Sarma's leadership.
Shifting focus to West Bengal, Bora commented on the BJP's remarkable performance, which secured 207 out of 294 seats, as a testament to the waning faith in Mamata Banerjee's administration. The incoming government pledges to tackle all pivotal issues, strengthened by the NDA's historic win. The Assam victory saw BJP securing 82 seats, surpassing the majority threshold, with AGP and Bodoland People's Front (BPF) contributing to the success.
In response to these successes, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended gratitude to the people of Assam for their decisive mandate. Sarma emphasized the continued partnership between the central and state governments to sustain developmental endeavors.
