President Donald Trump has introduced a new national counterterrorism strategy, with a focus on tackling hemispheric threats and dismantling cartel operations, according to White House adviser Sebastian Gorka on Wednesday.

This approach, said to be driven by national protection priorities, involves the United States destroying multiple trafficking vessels, part of a larger counternarcotics operation linked to the attempt to remove Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro this year.

The strategy includes efforts to map and neutralize domestic groups with anti-American ideologies, using constitutional law enforcement tools, while also maintaining pressure on the global jihadi movement.
