In a dramatic turn of events, TVK founder Vijay is advocating for his right to form the government in Tamil Nadu after his party emerged as the largest in the recent elections, securing 108 out of 234 seats. However, he lacks the necessary majority.
On Thursday, Vijay paid a second visit in 24 hours to the Lok Bhavan, seeking an audience with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. His objective is to discuss forming a government with Congress party support, though official confirmation on his meeting with Arlekar is awaited.
The BJP, meanwhile, remains firm on constitutional procedures, with spokesperson Narayanan Tirupathy emphasizing the necessity of abiding by the rule book. The political climate remains tense as the TVK works towards stability in Tamil Nadu politics.
