TVK chief Vijay made a significant visit to the Lok Bhavan on Thursday, aiming to meet Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. His mission was to secure an invitation to form a new government with the backing of the Congress party.
The TVK emerged victorious in 108 seats within the 234-member Assembly, positioning itself as the single largest party. Although the Congress party, which holds five seats, extended its support to TVK, the party remains 10 seats short of the required majority for forming a government.
Vijay submitted a letter of support from Congress to the Governor on Wednesday and asserted his claim to form the government. As of now, Governor Arlekar's decision remains pending. Amidst the political tension, TVK leader VS Babu indicated that developments would unfold soon, expressing uncertainty about any central pressure.
