Senators Seek Stability in US-China Relations Ahead of Key Meeting
A delegation of U.S. senators in Beijing, led by Senator Steve Daines, has emphasized the need for stability and peaceful cooperation with China. This visit comes ahead of a scheduled meeting between President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping, aiming to address economic concerns and enhance bilateral ties.
A delegation of U.S. senators visiting Beijing has urged stability and cooperation between the world's two largest economies. The call comes just a week before the leaders of the U.S. and China are set to meet.
'I strongly believe that we want to de-escalate, not decouple. We want stability; we want mutual respect,' said Senator Steve Daines, who heads the bipartisan delegation, during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
The meeting aims to address economic collaboration and trade issues, with potential Boeing orders on the agenda. China, yet to confirm Trump's visit, emphasizes the need for constructive relations, urging the U.S. to respect China's core interests and collaborate beneficially for both nations and the world.
