N Rangasamy, a prominent leader of the AINRC, will assume office as the Chief Minister of Puducherry for the fifth time. The official swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for May 13, bringing him back to lead the union territory.
Lieutenant Governor K Kailashnathan will administer the oath at Lok Nivas at 9.47 AM. This follows the recent assembly elections where AINRC secured 12 out of 16 contested seats, and its coalition partner, the BJP, won four out of 10.
Although the NDA will once again form a coalition government in Puducherry, it remains unclear if BJP members will join Rangasamy during the swearing-in on Wednesday. The alliance's strength now stands at 18 in the 30-member legislative assembly.
