Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was among the dignitaries present as Himanta Biswa Sarma took the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Assam. The ceremony, held in Guwahati, saw the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with several Union ministers and BJP leaders.
The swearing-in ceremony marks the beginning of the third consecutive NDA government in Assam. Alongside Sarma, noteworthy MLAs including Rameswar Teli, Ajanta Neog, Atul Bora, and Charan Boro were also sworn in as ministers, with Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya officiating the event.
Local artists greeted Yogi Adityanath with a cultural performance upon his arrival. The portfolios for the newly appointed ministers have yet to be officially confirmed, and Assam eagerly awaits the announcement. The event highlights the continued influence of the NDA in the northeastern state.
