In a sudden turn of events, political activities in Uttar Pradesh came to a halt on Wednesday as both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Samajwadi Party mourned the unexpected demise of Prateek Yadav, the younger son of late SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Prateek Yadav, aged 38, passed away at the Civil Hospital in Lucknow early Wednesday morning. His death prompted the BJP to postpone state-wide district-level protests organized by women workers. As per directives from Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, all political programs were deferred as a mark of respect.

The Samajwadi Party, led by Akhilesh Yadav, Prateek's stepbrother, also canceled its events for the day. Although Prateek was not involved in active politics, his passing strikes a significant chord within the political landscape, given his intimate connections to prominent figures in both parties.
