T T V Dhinakaran, leader of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), announced on Sunday that the party's lone MLA, S Kamaraj, faces possible disqualification after supporting the TVK during a recent floor test.
Kamaraj, who emerged victorious in the Mannargudi constituency by defeating senior DMK leader T R B Rajaa, now finds himself at the center of accusations of 'horse-trading'. Dhinakaran emphasized that even one defection could trigger disqualification procedures.
The AMMK, aligned with the NDA involving AIADMK, BJP, and PMK, won only one of the 11 seats contested in the Tamil Nadu elections, leading to internal strife. Dhinakaran highlighted the legacy of AIADMK founders, urging party unity amid criticism of Kamaraj's move.
