India and Sweden Strengthen Strategic Partnership with Ambitious Roadmap

India and Sweden have launched a roadmap aimed at enhancing ties in artificial intelligence, trade, and cultural exchanges. In a landmark visit, India and Sweden unveiled an ambitious roadmap to bolster strategic ties, focusing on areas including artificial intelligence, critical minerals, and innovation. The announcement came as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in talks with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in Gothenburg, highlighting mutual goals of enhancing economic and technological collaboration.

During the meeting, the two countries committed to doubling bilateral trade and investment within five years and launched the India-Sweden Joint Innovation Partnership 2.0. This initiative will explore deep collaboration in AI, renewable energy, and critical technologies. Modi was honored with the 'Royal Order of the Polar Star, Degree Commander Grand Cross' for his contributions to the India-Sweden relationship.

The joint roadmap also emphasizes the importance of the India-European Union free trade agreement and the promotion of people-to-people connections. Leaders condemned terrorism and supported the dismantling of terror networks. Sweden reaffirmed its support for India’s aspirations for a permanent UN Security Council seat, signifying a strengthened global partnership.
