CPI(M) stalwart Thomas Isaac on Sunday categorically rejected claims of a covert understanding between the BJP and his party regarding the contentious Sabarimala issue. The accusations, made by the Congress, were dismissed as baseless by Isaac during a public address in Thrissur.
Isaac highlighted that the management of temples in southern Keralam has historically been under a distinct government department, a practice originating from colonial times. He stated that the Keralam government remains focused on improving the infrastructure and facilities at Sabarimala, one of the nation's major pilgrimage hubs.
He countered allegations suggesting a BJP-CPI(M) pact by claiming instead that the BJP had redirected support towards Congress-led UDF candidates in certain areas. Isaac called for responsible political dialogue on the Sabarimala issue, warning that misleading statements could sow unwarranted public confusion.
