In a dramatic political turn in West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is witnessing significant shifts as rebel leaders join forces with the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). BJP MP Soumitra Khan announced that his party would adhere to the guidance of central leaders like PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and Nitin Nabin. He stated BJP's openness to NCPI's alliance offer.
The realignment comes at a crucial juncture, with dissenting voices within TMC coalescing. Rebel MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar confirmed that 20 Lok Sabha MPs have joined NCPI, pledging support to NDA. This faction sought recognition from Speaker Om Birla, emphasizing their numerical strength in Parliament and their intent to bolster national interests under NDA's leadership.
This political upheaval deepens as 58 TMC MLAs, led by expelled leader Ritabrata Banerjee, challenge party directives, supported by resignations from Rajya Sabha MPs, including influential figures like Sukhendu Sekhar Ray, Sushmita Dev, and Prakash Baraik. The rift highlights growing factionalism within TMC as regional politics take a national turn.
