Donald Trump referred to himself as the "chosen one" which made his critics push for 25th Amendment. But what does it mean?

US President Donald Trump recently sparked a fresh set of controversies for a number of things, including lashing out a Denmark for not being interested in selling Greenland, apparently referring to himself as the "chosen one" and suggesting that he is the "king of Israel." He is not new to controversies but this time they grew a little bigger and a hashtag "#25thAmmenmentNow" started trending on Twitter within hours.

Having no clue, many people are asking what actually is Amendment 25? and what it does? So here it is.

The 25th amendment to the US constitution formally outlines presidential succession in the case of the sitting president's death, incapacitation, or resignation. It also gives Vice President and the heads of federal departments the power to invoke the amendment forcibly remove the President if he is unable to do his duty.

Many critics of Donald Trump are of the view that he is not "mentally fit" for the job of US president and should be removed, especially after reportedly "looking at the sky" and referring to himself as the "chosen one."

This is not the first time that calls for invoking 25th Amendment have gained traction. Various times during the events of Mueller investigation critics called for replacing Trump but all those calls clearly failed.

Time will tell what happens this time but the invocation of the 25th Amendment still seems difficult as Trump continues to push for his campaign for 2020 election.
