In a dramatic incident late Saturday night, a fire erupted on the 10th floor of the Monte South building in Byculla, Mumbai, leading to extensive damage and the rescue of approximately 25 to 30 individuals.

Fire officials reported that a 57-year-old man, identified as Pandurang Shinde, sustained injuries. The blaze broke out around 11:42 pm, filling the entire floor with smoke and stranding several residents on the upper levels.

Rescue operations involved eight water tankers and six fire engines. The fire was finally extinguished at 2:45 am on Sunday. Preliminary reports suggest a possible short circuit as the cause.
