Eight individuals have lost their lives in the past two days due to rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh, including drowning and boat capsizing. Seventeen districts have been impacted, with several rivers flowing above the danger mark. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely.

Eight individuals have tragically lost their lives in various rain-related incidents across Uttar Pradesh over the last two days, according to the state relief commissioner's office. The incidents included drowning and a boat capsizing.

Among the deceased, victims in Agra, Kanpur, Bahraich, Chitrakoot, and Ghazipur drowned, while fatalities in Hathras, Ghazipur, and Shravasti resulted from a boat capsize, snake bite, and other rain-related mishaps. These casualties were documented within the past 24 hours until 6 pm on Monday.

A total of 17 districts, including Lakhimpur Kheri, Balrampur, Kushinagar, Shahjahanpur, Ballia, and others, have been affected by heavy rains. Authorities have reported dangerously high water levels in several rivers, such as the Rapti River in Gorakhpur, Bansi and Kuono River in Gonda, Ghaghra River in Ballia, and Ramganga in Shahjahanpur.
