In the past 24 hours, six people have lost their lives due to rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh, according to a report by the state Relief Commissioner's office on Tuesday.
The report specifies that five of these fatalities were due to drowning in Kannauj, while one individual drowned in Mainpuri.
Floods have impacted 16 districts including Lakhimpur Kheri, Kushinagar, Shahjahanpur, Barabanki, Siddharthnagar, Ballia, Gorakhpur, Unnao, Deoria, Hardoi, Ayodhya, Bahraich, Budaun, Gonda, Maharajganj, and Sitapur. Notably, rivers such as Rapti in Gorakhpur and Siddharth Nagar, Budhi Rapti in Siddharth Nagar, and Quono in Gonda are flowing above the danger mark.
