Madhya Pradesh has won 11 awards in various categories under the 'Steps towards Excellence' programme of the Systematic Progressive Analytical Realtime Ranking (SPARK) for implementation of government schemes and innovation, an official confirmed on Friday.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav congratulated officials from the state's urban development and housing department, expressing confidence that the state would continue to achieve similar laurels with consistent and coordinated efforts.

Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Neeraj Mandloi received the awards from Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar and Tokhan Sahu in New Delhi on Thursday.

Madhya Pradesh's awards include four for national performance and seven for local body achievements. Notably, the state topped two 'Best Performing State' categories for the Prime Minister SVANidhi scheme and also excelled in the Day National Urban Livelihood Mission.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya also extended congratulations to the officials. Awarded urban bodies included Ujjain, Khargone, Sarani, Jabalpur, Sidhi, Mandsaur, and Itarsi districts.
