Mother and Son Injured in Thane Ceiling Collapse

A 63-year-old woman, Sunanda Warang, and her son were injured in a ceiling plaster collapse in their Thane, Maharashtra home. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday. The woman was initially admitted to Kalwa hospital but transferred to Sion Hospital in Mumbai as her condition worsened. Her son was treated and discharged.

A 63-year-old woman was seriously injured and her son was also wounded after the ceiling plaster of their house in Maharashtra's Thane city collapsed in the early hours of Wednesday, according to civic officials.

The incident occurred in their ground-floor residence located in the Lokmanya Nagar area shortly after midnight on Wednesday, as stated by Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of Thane Municipal Corporation.

Following the incident, the injured woman, Sunanda Warang, was initially admitted to a civic hospital in Kalwa. Due to her deteriorating condition, she was subsequently transferred to Sion Hospital in Mumbai. Her 38-year-old son received treatment and was discharged from the hospital, Tadvi confirmed.
