In a tragic incident, three civil services aspirants lost their lives after the basement of a coaching center in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar area flooded following heavy rains. The Delhi Fire Department received a distress call around 7 pm on Saturday regarding the flooding.
Rescue teams, including NDRF, local police, and fire department officials, managed to retrieve the bodies of two female students and one male student. The identities of the deceased have not been disclosed. The rescue operation continued through the night as water was being pumped out of the basement.
Revenue Minister Atishi has directed an inquiry into the incident, promising that those responsible will be held accountable. Political leaders blamed local authorities for their negligence, citing ignored warnings about drainage issues. Students protested, demanding justice for the victims.
