Three individuals lost their lives and at least six were injured after a house collapsed in Haridwar district, as relentless rain caused widespread destruction in Uttarakhand on Wednesday evening.
In the Ghansali area of Tehri district, a family went missing following a cloudburst, officials reported. Heavy rain also led to the collapse of a house in Bharpur village near Roorkee, resulting in three fatalities and over half a dozen injuries as people were buried under the debris, according to police.
The injured have been hospitalized, and the sound of the collapse terrified locals, the police said. Additionally, torrential downpours inundated Haridwar, washing away a truck loaded with rations in the Sukhi river in Kharkhari. Roads across the city were submerged, affecting numerous colonies, markets, and the Kankhal police station.
