Tragic Lightning Strikes in Bihar Claim Eight Lives

Eight people were killed in lightning strike incidents in four districts of Bihar within the last 24 hours. The deceased include three victims each in Patna and Aurangabad, and one each in Nawada and Saran. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his sorrow and announced compensation for the victims' families.

Eight people were killed in lightning strike incidents across four districts of Bihar within the last 24 hours, according to an official release on Friday.

The Chief Minister's Office reported that Patna and Aurangabad each witnessed three fatalities, while Nawada and Saran reported one death each.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic loss and announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased.

Kumar also urged people to follow advisories issued by the Disaster Management Department to prevent further tragedies.

This follows the death of 12 people due to lightning strikes in the state just a day earlier.
