Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has revealed plans to re-survey Pune's blue flood line in response to the recent flooding. Residents in the flood-prone Sinhagad Road area will be rehabilitated.
The blue flood line, marking flood levels over the past 25 years, will undergo scrutiny to ensure its accuracy after recent inundations affected low-lying regions. Teams of the Army, NDRF, and civic administration have been active in the area.
Shinde emphasized that the state government will introduce measures to prevent future flood risks and draft new Development Control and Promotion Regulations for flood-affected housing. Special status may be granted to residents of flood-prone zones under the new DCR.
