17-Year-Old Tiger Passes Away in Rajasthan's Abheda Biological Park

A 17-year-old male tiger named Nahar died of natural causes in Rajasthan's Abheda Biological Park. Born in 2006, Nahar was relocated from Jaipur's Nahargarh Biological Park last year. Despite efforts by veterinary experts, Nahar could not be saved and was declared dead on Friday morning.

A 17-year-old male tiger died in the Abheda Biological Park in Rajasthan's Kota, officials said on Friday.

The tiger, named Nahar, succumbed to natural causes. Nahar was 17 years and 10 months old, born in Bhopal in October 2006. After almost a decade in Jaipur's Nahargarh Biological Park, Nahar and tigress Mahak were relocated to Abheda Biological Park in March last year.

Deputy Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) for Kota Anurag Bhatnagar said that park staff noticed Nahar's posterior body was immobile on Thursday. Around 6:15 pm, he collapsed while being transferred to the night shelter. Veterinary experts were called, and medication administered. Mahak was released in the night shelter to encourage his movement.

Monitored through the night, Nahar was found lifeless at 6:30 am, and a senior veterinary doctor confirmed his death. His remains were disposed of following established protocol after an autopsy conducted by a three-member medical board.
