Delhi Witnesses Record Rainfall and Unusually Cool August
August in Delhi saw the highest rainfall since 2010 with the city recording 390.3 mm of rain, surpassing previous years. The month also experienced consistently below-average temperatures, with the average maximum and minimum reaching their lowest in years.

Delhi experienced its highest August rainfall since 2010, recording 390.3 mm of precipitation, according to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This new figure surpasses the 378.8 mm recorded in August 2012.
The primary weather observatory in Safdarjung noted that August's highest rainfall in the last 15 years was 455.1 mm, recorded in 2010. The all-time record for the month stands at 583.3 mm, registered in 1961.
The city also saw consistently cooler temperatures for August. On Thursday, the national capital experienced a maximum temperature of 28.8 degrees Celsius, marking the lowest for an August day in four years. Both maximum and minimum temperatures remained below normal throughout the month.
