A devastating fire razed at least 23 houses in Seppa, Arunachal Pradesh's East Kameng district, according to police reports.

The blaze erupted in Abotani Colony around 7 PM on Saturday, Superintendent of Police Kamdam Sikom stated.

While the exact cause remains undetermined, authorities suspect an electric short-circuit. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

A relief camp at LBS-II School has been set up for those displaced by the incident, Sikom added.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced that the government is closely monitoring the situation.

“Saddened to learn about the fire that destroyed 23 houses in Seppa. Please don't panic; we are closely monitoring the situation,” Khandu posted on X.

The Chief Minister has directed district officials to provide all necessary assistance and urged affected residents to utilize the relief camp while observing safety precautions to prevent future incidents.
