Landslides and floods triggered by the typhoon have resulted in the deaths of at least 65 people, with 39 others reported missing in the north, the country's disaster management agency stated in its latest update. An additional 752 people have been injured, according to the agency.
The industrial hubs of Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen, home to factories of several major multinationals including Samsung Electronics and Foxconn, are also facing severe flooding, according to state media reports. The impact on these companies remains unclear.
