Kangra Airport Expansion: A Catalyst for Tourism and Economic Growth

The Himachal Pradesh government announced plans to inject Rs 3,500 crore into the kangra airport expansion project. On Monday, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu detailed the allocation for compensating and rehabilitating landowners.
The first phase will see Rs 32.50 crore distributed to landowners in Jugehar, a move met with approval as it addresses longstanding community demands.
Plans include extending the runway from 1376 to 3010 meters, accommodating A320 aircraft, offering a significant boost to the region's tourism and local economy.
