Tragedy Strikes: Highway Collapse in South Korea Claims Lives

An under-construction highway in South Korea collapsed on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of four workers and injuries to six others, officials reported. The tragic incident took place near Cheonan, approximately 90 kilometers south of Seoul.

Four of the ten workers at the site were killed, with two pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Despite rescue efforts involving 50 fire trucks, three helicopters, and around 150 personnel, the last missing worker was discovered dead in the debris.

Acting President Choi Sang-mok called for all available resources to be utilized to rescue and aid workers. The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined as investigations continue.
