Union Minister Manohar Lal has vowed to revamp Delhi's urban landscape within two years, citing the challenges posed by illegal encroachments and restrictive policies. Speaking at the Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2025, he emphasized the need to overhaul policies to address these issues.
Drawing a contrast, Lal praised Gurugram's significant growth during his time as Haryana Chief Minister, attributing Delhi's stagnation to widespread unauthorized colonies and political barriers. He expressed confidence in the new political climate to facilitate necessary changes.
Acknowledging Madhya Pradesh’s rapid adoption of central government initiatives, he highlighted future urban mobility projects and the expansion of the metro network. The minister underscored the importance of adapting policies for sustainable living environments and promoting electric vehicles as part of the urban development agenda.
