BEML and Dragflow Join Forces for Innovative Dredging Solutions

BEML Limited has formed a strategic alliance with Dragflow S R L to develop innovative Amphibious Cutter Suction Dredgers. This collaboration aims to enhance local manufacturing capabilities, improve power efficiency, and address critical challenges in waterway management and urban flood resilience in line with India's national initiatives.

BEML Limited, a prominent Public Sector Undertaking in India, has entered a strategic partnership with Italian company Dragflow S R L, announced on Wednesday. The collaboration focuses on designing and manufacturing Amphibious Cutter Suction Dredgers to provide efficient de-silting solutions.

The alliance aims to offer cost-effective and reliable dredging solutions for riverine and inland waterways, targeting both domestic and international markets. BEML emphasized that this initiative is a critical step in enhancing India's dredging capabilities, supporting urban flood management, and boosting the efficiency of power generation.

The partnership aligns with the Indian Government's 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' policies, aiming to strengthen local manufacturing and reduce dependency on imports. Shantanu Roy, CMD of BEML Ltd., noted that this collaboration positions BEML as a leader in the global market, addressing key challenges in waterway and reservoir management.
