Eight locations across Odisha experienced intense heat, as temperatures climbed to a scorching 40 degrees Celsius or more, according to the state's Meteorological Department.

Jharsuguda recorded the highest temperature at 41.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Boudh at 40.8 degrees, and Bolangir at 40.4 degrees, the evening bulletin from Bhubaneswar reported.

With expectations of heatwave conditions lasting three more days, a 'yellow' warning has been issued for various districts. Residents are advised to wear light clothing and protect themselves from the sun's exposure.
