Karnataka: India's New Launchpad for Commercial Space Ventures

The Karnataka government and IN-SPACe signed MoUs to boost the state's leadership in commercial space industries. Initiatives include a Centre of Excellence for Space Technologies and a Space Manufacturing Park. The agreements aim to align regional ambitions with the national vision, enhancing India's space economy.

The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) has collaborated with the Karnataka government to fast-track the state's growth as India's leading commercial space launchpad.

The agreements, signed by the Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology of Karnataka, envisage a Centre of Excellence for Space Technologies in Bengaluru and a Space Manufacturing Park, enabling next-gen satellite and launch vehicle production.

Currently harboring an ecosystem enriched by ISRO, DRDO, and various private entities, Karnataka seeks to harmonize regional objectives with the national framework laid out in the Indian Space Policy, 2023. IN-SPACe is crucial in facilitating this transformation, aiming to propel India's space economy.
